Background

The Magellan Group, LLC, d/b/a/ CEU Professor, is a provider of quality continuing education courses for nursing professionals. CEU Professor was founded in 2006 by professionals in the medical and legal industries who saw a need for quality continuing education courses at a reasonable price. This vision resulted in our mission statement:

"Set out each day to fill the continuing education needs of medical professionals by providing only the highest quality continuing education courses, written by authors who understand the educational needs of medical professionals."

We believe each course offering meets this mission statement; we anticipate our clients will, too. Please check back with us often, as we are constantly adding new courses to our offerings.

Our courses are offered by purchasing our unlimited course subscription plan. With the subscription plan, you can take an unlimited number of contact hours for one year for one low price. All courses are available for reading prior to making a purchase. When you're ready to get your credits, simply sign-up, pass the test, and print your certificate.

Carrie L. Hill, Ph.D.
Carrie has over 10 years of experience working for agencies in the health, human service, and senior markets, including Caregivers Home Health in Woodstock, Illinois; the Center for Gerontology at Ball State University; Williamsburg Manor in Muncie, Indiana; the Life Management Institute in Anderson, Indiana; the Jefferson Center for Mental Health in Arvada, Colorado; the Indiana State Women’s Prison; the Buffalo VA Medical Center in New York; and the Alzheimer’s Association in St. George, Utah.

Through these experiences, Carrie has become an accomplished writer, editor, and trainer. She currently serves as Newsletter Editor for the Utah Gerontological Society and the Iron County Democratic Party. In addition to publishing over one dozen journal articles and book chapters, she has conducted over 70 trainings at local, state, national, and international events.

Dana Bartlett, RN
Dana Bartlett is a registered nurse and a certified specialist in poison information. He has been working at the Philadelphia Poison control Center since 1993.

Mr. Bartlett has a masters in nursing and a masters in journalism. He has extensive freelance writing experience, authoring numerous articles for nursing journals, including many for the Journal of Emergency Nursing. He has also done significant editing and reviewing for numerous medical books and other publications.

Dr. Ratnakar Kini, M.D.
Dr. Kini is a consultant Pediatrician working for the India State Government, specializing in Nephrology. He completed his MBBS from Stanley Medical College, Chennai in 1996. He joined the India State Government Service in 1997. He completed his MD in Pediatrics from the renowned Institute of Child health and Hospital for Children, Madras Medical College in April 2003. Presently, he is working as Civil Assistant Surgeon and Pediatrician in the First Referral Unit, Government Hospital, Hosur near Bangalore. He is a visiting Consultant in various Private Hospitals as well. He has presented at numerous symposiums and does a great deal of freelance writing on medical topics.

Peta Minerof, DPM
Dr. Minerof is a 1992 graduate of Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, Chicago, IL, and is currently a candidate in the Certificate Program for Medical Writing and Editing at the Graham School of the University of Chicago. She is board certified with the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics. Dr. Minerof is also a member of the American Medical Writer's Association and a peer reviewer for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Society. She has functioned as owner, partner and associate in multiple podiatric medical practices.

Michael Cruse, Ed.S.
Mr. Cruse is a career and technical educator in Alexandria, Virginia. He is a member of the Association of Career and Technical Education’s Health Occupations Education Division. He is also on the board of curriculum evaluators for the American Bureau of Health Education Schools and a member of the American Medical Writers Association.

Mr. Cruse is a graduate of the George Washington University, and teaches in the Continuing Education and Workforce Development program at Northern Virginia Community College.

Marietta Farrell, RN, BSN
Ms. Farrell is a professional registered nurse with over twenty years of experience in the field. She is a 1982 graduate of the St. Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines. She has a strong background in providing primary care to patients of all diagnoses, including assessment of patient, needs identification, care planning and updating, and coordinating patient care using collaborative approach.

Shawan A. Johnson RN, BSN, MSN
Mrs. Johnson is a registered nurse and community health nursing supervisor. She has been a registered nurse since July 1996. Her clinical background is in medical/surgical nursing. Specialties services include, but are not limited to, Multi-Trauma Acute Care, Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Otolaryngology. She is a member of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, INC and was inducted into Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing Pi Chapter, in 2000. Mrs. Johnson is a graduate of Towson State University, Coppin State College, University of Maryland, Baltimore, and is an instructor of a Certified Nursing Assistant training program.

Irene Bookman, RN, BSN, CCM
Ms. Bookman is a registered nurse, receiving here BS in Nursing in 1994 from Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania. She is a CCMC certified case manager who has dedicated the last six years of her career to this field. She began her first six years as a critical care nurse, where she managed patient care of critically ill and injured patients in a Neurotrauma Intensive care unit. She is currently working towards her Masters in Business Administration.
